Affiliate Disclosure

TechNottingham is a free resource. This page explains how we fund the site, how our commercial relationships work, and — critically — what effect they do and do not have on the content we publish.

We believe in complete transparency. If you are going to trust our casino reviews, you deserve to understand exactly how we make money.

What Is Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a performance-based referral system used across the internet. When you click a link to a casino on TechNottingham and subsequently register an account or make a deposit, we receive a commission payment from that casino operator. This is called an affiliate commission or referral fee.

The commission is paid by the casino. It does not affect the price you pay, the bonus you receive, or the terms of your account in any way. You pay exactly the same whether you arrive at a casino through our site or navigate there directly.

This model is standard practice across comparison and review websites — in gambling, finance, travel, insurance, and many other sectors. It is how the majority of free editorial content on the internet is funded.

How We Earn Money

TechNottingham generates revenue through the following commercial activities:

Affiliate commissions. The primary source of our revenue. When a reader clicks a casino link on our site and registers an account, we receive a commission from the casino or its affiliate programme. Commission structures vary by operator and may be calculated as a flat fee per registration, a percentage of the player’s net losses over time (revenue share), or a combination of both.

Sponsored content. Occasionally we publish content that has been commissioned and paid for by a casino operator or related business. All sponsored content is clearly labelled with a “Sponsored” or “Advertisement” notice at the top of the page. Sponsored content is subject to the same factual accuracy standards as our editorial content, but readers should be aware that it represents the operator’s perspective rather than an independent evaluation.

Display advertising. We may display third-party advertising on some pages of the site. Advertisers do not have access to our editorial content or ratings, and advertising placements are managed separately from our review process.

We do not charge readers for access to any content on TechNottingham. We do not sell personal data. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive reviews.

What Our Affiliate Relationships Do Not Affect

This is the most important part of this page.

Our ratings are not for sale. Every casino listed on TechNottingham is evaluated using the same methodology, regardless of whether a commercial relationship exists. A casino cannot pay to improve its score, move up in our rankings, or have negative findings removed from its review. Our scoring criteria and their respective weightings are published in full on our How We Rank page.

Negative findings are always published. If a casino performs poorly in our testing — slow withdrawals, misleading bonus terms, inadequate responsible gambling tools, unresolved player complaints — that information appears in the review in full. We have declined commercial relationships with operators whose products did not meet our standards, and we have published negative findings about operators we do have commercial relationships with.

Commission rates do not determine rankings. Some casino operators offer higher affiliate commissions than others. This has no bearing on where a casino appears in our rankings. We do not order casinos by commission rate, and we do not give preferential treatment to higher-paying operators.

We link to casinos we do not have affiliate relationships with. Where a casino is relevant to our readers — for example, in a comparison article or a responsible gambling context — we may link to it regardless of whether we earn a commission from the referral. Our primary obligation is to give readers accurate and useful information.

Identifying Affiliate Links

In accordance with the requirements of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), we identify commercial relationships on our site in the following ways:

Pages and articles that contain affiliate links display a disclosure notice at or near the top of the content. This notice confirms that the page may contain affiliate links and explains what this means.

Individual affiliate links may be marked with a label such as “Ad”, “Sponsored Link”, or “Partner” where required by applicable guidelines.

Our overall commercial model is disclosed on this page, which is linked from the footer of every page on the site.

If you are ever uncertain whether a link on TechNottingham is an affiliate link, please contact us at [email protected] and we will confirm.

Our Editorial Independence Policy

TechNottingham operates a strict separation between its commercial and editorial functions. The following rules apply without exception:

Casino operators are not shown reviews before publication and have no right to request changes to editorial content. Affiliate managers and commercial partners communicate with our partnerships team only — they have no contact with our reviewers during the evaluation process. Any request from a commercial partner to amend editorial content is declined and logged. If a pattern of such requests emerges from a single operator, it is noted in our internal compliance records and may be referenced in the relevant review.

Reviewers are not told the commission rate associated with any casino they are evaluating. Bonus payments, performance incentives, or other forms of variable compensation are not tied to the commercial performance of individual casino reviews.

Our Editor in Chief has final authority over all published content and is responsible for ensuring that editorial standards are maintained regardless of commercial considerations.

Compliance With UK Advertising Standards

TechNottingham complies with the guidelines of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing (CAP Code) in relation to the disclosure of affiliate and commercial relationships.

We also comply with the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) guidance on online reviews and endorsements, which requires that material connections between a reviewer and the subject of a review are clearly disclosed.

If you believe that any content on TechNottingham does not meet these standards, please contact us at [email protected]. We take compliance seriously and will investigate all concerns promptly.

A Note on Responsible Gambling

We are a gambling-related website and we take our responsibilities seriously. Affiliate marketing in the gambling sector carries particular obligations — directing readers toward casinos that cause harm would be both ethically wrong and commercially self-defeating in the long run.

Our responsible gambling criteria are built into our rating methodology. A casino that does not provide adequate player protection tools cannot receive a high rating from us, regardless of the commission it offers. We maintain a dedicated Responsible Gambling page with free UK support resources.

If gambling is causing you harm, please call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 — free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
